Turkmani Heart amulet - Troy film wardrobe

Charming tribal silver amulet pendant with hammered applied and chased decoration and taselled hollow diamond pendants. Heart shaped bosses and the centre claw set red foiled backed red glass jewel add a touch of romance. The reverse is hammered and scored Bedouin style.

This is in very wearable condition with minor wear from age and a few dents and dings and a few solder marks to the side from a past alteration. This is also a piece of film wardrobe used in the recent film Troy. Sorry we are not permitted to give written provenance from the costume dept, watch the film and you might see it on screen! It was purchased in 2004 from a market in Afghanistan, and is of a typical Turkmenistan design.

We are unsure of the date of this peice but the quailty of workmanship is outstanding. The entire amulet has a very high silver content.
