 | 'Egyptian' Art Deco Lavalier necklace In the 1920's the discovery of the Tomb of King Tutenkamun created a craze for Egyptian inspired design. We believe this intricate necklace is a little earlier. It is as much inspired by the possiblities of new components and the liberation in dress and ideas of the aesthetic movement as by the past, and as such is an important peice of design history.
Brass links and filigree panels act as a foil for marbled glass 'peking jade' and tiny emerald coloured glass beads. The dramatic linked cascades are charming and move as you do.
Circa 1910, near mint condtion, light patina to metal.
