Elsa Schiaparelli was a design maverick who brought wit and sharp tailoring to all her garments, and her attention to detail meant that special buttons or fastenings were often made for her. We've found a drawing of a 1937 jacket featuring these buttons in the book 'Secrets of the couturiers'
