	Miriam Haskell festoon necklace Wonderful triple stranded necklace full of charm and romance, but not for the faint hearted. An impressive and dramatic mix of baroque glass pearls and aurora borealis crystal beads in a stunning filigree setting. Celebrate the new season with style

Welcome to our March newsletter, bringing you new vintage and eco jewelery treasures and suggestions as to how to wear them.

Though its still cold, the weather is brightening. Many of us are spring cleaning, clearing out the old, and making way for, well, the old and precious.

Over the past year, we’ve been running our monlthy draw, and asking for your favourite era of jewellery as a tiebreaker. The period that still features most highly is Art Deco, We’ve chosen this month to add some spectacular Art Deco and early 20th century peices, and hope that you will enjoy their timeless beauty.


New Treasures

	Large Art Deco lily and daisy and rose brooch This large and striking brooch has all the charm of the era, and combines three of the most popular flowers of the era, then often given as girls’ names. The pave set rhinestones and green glass beads on stems contrast beautifully with the gilded silver metal and oxidised brass. 	Art Deco circle belt buckle Highly evocative mock belt buckle studded with rhinestones. Garlands of pave set stones surround this peice which clearly show the transtion between Edwardian romance and Deco modernism. Unsigned and unmarked. 	Art Deco ‘Mother’ brooch Radiant aqua and sapphire blue rhinestones adorn this simple yet stylish Deco era brass brooch. Central enamel ‘Mother’ in charming script. 	Hand crafted Ruskin brooch Silver hand crafted brooch with a ceramic Ruskin centre in wonderful shades of blue. Though unsigned, the ceramic cabochon is of the correct date and shade. Near mint condition, with minor marks to the silver moslty from manufacture - like many Arts and Crarts pieces, this was made by a skilled amateur. 	Celluloid Cameo Brooch Charming pressed metal brooch, with radiant detailing surrounding a hand coloured classical celluloid cameo set with two rhinestones. A rare survival which shows its age but retains its charm. Circa 1905, probably French. Very good condition overall, some scratches to the cameo on her collar and hair. 4.5 cm, C clasp. Star buttons - Schiaparelli?

Three striking late deco buttons in red marbled satin catalin plastic moulded into fabulous faceted star shapes.These very large buttons are reputed to have come from a couture Schiaparelli jacket. Elsa Schiaparelli was a design maverick who brought wit and sharp tailoring to all her garments, and her attention to detail meant that special buttons or fastenings were often made for her. We’ve found a written description of these buttons which matches but we can’t be 100% sure.
